The current programme of major exhibitions in the V&A. Complementing the Museum's permanent collection, exhibitions look in depth at a broad range of subjects from design and fashion to photography and architecture. They feature multiple rooms of objects, installations and multimedia.
This exhibition looks at the extremes of footwear from around the globe, presenting around 200 pairs of shoes ranging from a sandal decorated in pure gold leaf originating from ancient Egypt to the most elaborate designs by contemporary makers.
This exhibition will address the practicalities of underwear and its role in the fashionable wardrobe whilst highlighting its sensual, sexual appeal.The exhibition will explore dress reformers and designers who argued for the beauty of the natural body, as well as entrepreneurs, inventors and innovators who have played a critical role in the development of increasingly more effective and comfortable underwear.
This exhibition will feature some of the earliest and most striking views of the landscape and architecture of India and Burma, by a pioneering British photographer. Part of the V&A India Festival.

Ove Arup (1895-1988) was the most influential engineer of the 20th century and the pioneer of a multidisciplinary approach to design that has defined the way engineering is understood and practiced today. This exhibition will focus on the design philosophy of Ove Arup, revealing his ideas of collaborative working, total architecture and design as a humanistic and technological tool for social responsibility.
